Short description: This thesis is about the identification of requirements for a car2x communication based prediction system towards the measurement- and communication system.


Car-to-car and car-to-infrastructure communication (combined known as Car2x communication) deal with exchanging of information between cars and roadside infrastructure (e.g. traffic lights or variable speed limit signs), enabling the development of a new generation of assistance- and information-systems.
One example for these systems are the so called prediction systems. They predict the future state of the car so it can adjust itself to these conditions.
This thesis is about the identification of requirements for a prediction system based on car2x communication. Based on a catalog of evaluated traffic situations you design a model describing the dependency of certain actions in the car from the quality and quantity of information about relevant traffic. Accordingly you determine the quality of detection of traffic situations using different car2x communication systems and identify the impact on certain strategies. Among other things it is necessary to formalize the measured variables and the required quality of measurement. Concluding determine the requirements towards the communication system and evaluate existing systems.
Your qualification should cover the following:

  • Study of  computer science, information technology or comparable study
  • Knowledge of mobile communication systems (WLAN, cellular radio)
  • Ability to work independently and being proactive
  • Analytical thinking
  • good language skills in English and German
