   Lectures:
  • Distributed Applications SS2013 (IN 2102)
University lecturer:   Schlichter, J.    Wörndl, W.
Description: This lecture aims at introducing basic concepts which play an important role in the design and implementation of distributed applications. It discusses various architectures for distributed systems and communication mechanisms. Examples illustrating these mechanisms will be the fundamental aspects of remote invocation of procedures, methods and services (RPC, RMI, Web services), distributed transactions and group communication. On a higher level abstraction, the lecture will deal with distributed file systems, especially aspects of file allocation, file replication, concurrency control algorithms to preserve consistency of replicated information in distributed environments and the Coda file system.
  • Social Gaming 2013 (IN0036)
    University lecturer:   Groh, G.
Description: Social Computing has become an important trend in particular in relation to the Web over the last decade, with Social Networking as one key paradigm. The lecture will discuss a cross section of topics in relation to Social Networking and Social Computing, ranging from Social Games, elements of Social Network Analysis, Graph Visualization, Mobile Social Networking, Social Semantic Web, Social Games or also topics related to social context such as Social Signal Processing.
  • Social Computing 2013 (IN2241)
    University lecturer:   Groh, G.
Description: The lecture is identical to the lecture of module IN0036 (Social Gaming)
  • Einführung in die Informatik für andere Fachrichtungen SS2013 (IN8003)
University lecturer:   Groh, G.    Schlichter, J.    Lehmann, A.
  • User Modeling and Recommender Systems (IN2119)
University lecturer:   Schlichter, J.    Wörndl, W.
Description: Lecture course Wednesdays, 14:15 - 15:45, in room 00.13.009A. This lecture course is conducted in English.

University lecturer:   Groh, G.    Hauptmann, C.    Klügel, N.    Lamche, B.
Description: The goal of the lab course (praktikum) part of the module Social Gaming is to further develop programming skills in the field of Social Gaming / Social Computing. Certain aspects of these fields either covered in the lecture or complementing the lecture are investigated, and concepts for (mobile) social games are developed.
